Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and Urinary Incontinence Treatment

Creekside Physiotherapy provides an unique and positive environment to encourage patients to successfully complete a pelvic health rehabilitation program. Our state-of-the-art EMG / Biofeedback with electrical muscle stimulation coupled with excellence in clinician care provides the framework for successful outcomes.


Creekside is located within the Assiniboine Medical Clinic. The 2,700 square foot facility includes dedicated private sound-proof treatment rooms for pelvic health management. The comfortable surroundings puts patients at ease when addressing this “sensitive” issue.

  • Fecal incontinence
  • Urinary incontinence: Stress/Urge/Mixed

  • Pre and post surgical training of the pelvic floor

  • 30 - 45 minutes in duration
  • Recommended 4 - 8 treatments typically 1x / week
  • Outcomes vary and rely on active patient participation

Treatment includes:

  • EMG biofeedback to allow self correction with focus on triangle of communication between patient, therapist and the biofeedback machine
  • State-of-the-art MYOMED machine with built-in electrical stimulation and EMG Biofeedback providing excellence in patient care
  • Electrical stimulation to help localise and strengthen the weak pelvic floor muscles
  • Manual therapy to address lower back / hip / pelvic joint problems linked with pelvic floor disfunction
  • Use of Ultrasound therapy / TENS / Interferential Therapy and hands on manual techniques to treat pelvic pain
  • Behavioural Techniques/Bladder Retraining: dietary modification, timed voiding , urge suppression techniques and toileting postures
  • Customised home exercise program to strengthen pelvic floor / core muscles to empower patients and allow them to monitor their progress
